Oregon Energy Center

Project Summary

Oregon Energy Center, jointly owned by CME Energy, will be a 955-MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant in Lucas County, Ohio. Clean Energy Future-Oregon LLC, a subsidiary of Clean Energy Future, will build the Oregon Energy Center.

The new plant is expected to create up to 1,000 construction jobs for local union contractors, and be fully functional by 2020. Oregon Energy Center’s output will be able to generate enough electricity to serve 900,000 homes in Ohio. It is the 12th natural-gas facility of its kind in Ohio.

This new large gas-fired power plant is in addition to CME Energy’s development of its 869-MW Oregon Clean Energy Project, which began commercial operation in 2017.
